Launched in 2019, FoodHero is addressing the global issue of food waste by leveraging technology and a consumer-centric approach. Starting as a pilot project in five Métro grocery stores in Montreal, FoodHero has grown into a market leader in Quebec and beyond.


📱 Smart Technology: Their mobile app connects consumers to nearby grocery stores offering surplus food at discounts ranging from 25% to 60%.
🌱 Waste Reduction: By enabling stores to sell unsold but still consumable products, they divert food from landfills and reduce waste.
💰 Affordable Choices: FoodHero empowers consumers to access discounted groceries while supporting sustainability.
🌟 Community Impact: The app encourages sustainable consumption habits and strengthens local businesses.
🚀 Expansion: After its initial success, FoodHero has expanded to banners like Sobeys, Safeway, Foodland/Coop , Thrifty Foods, and IGA West, proving its adaptability across markets. Now available at over 1000 locations coast-to-coast across Canada!
